Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer and songwriter for a number of years. Sara Ramirez was raised by her American mother and faced a lot racial taunts that caused her to feel uncomfortable. When she was in 9th grade she started to feel more confident when she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success when she sang at the school's audition. Not only did she win the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. The recognition grew even more for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. In addition to having a cult following as a singer, she also released her own solo album as well as an extended version. Also, she is an activist and works extensively for LGBT rights.
